This production from AC Videos takes us through some very recent Australian steam preservation history - in the period between 2007 and 2015.
Firstly in March 2014 we have a rare tour on the South Maitland railways as SMR18 and 5917 take the Blue Zephyr on a circuit to Pelton and back. It has been a long time since a 10 class has been back to its old stomping grounds and many of the locations featured here will bring back memories for those that chased the 10 class in service in the not too distant past.
Next in November 2013 we see 3237 do a run to Thirlmere with the Railway Research Express.
In July 2015 another unusual event took place when Heritage Express 3642 did a number of shuttles on the newly opened Leppington line in South-Western Sydney, and AC Videos brings us a number of shots at the new terminus as well as 3642 on some of the impressive bridges and flyovers that characterise the new line.
The final event covered is the first long distance tour of 6029 as it headed to Wagga Wagga for its Winter Steam Safari in June of 2015. We see a number of shots taken on that memorable weekend including 6029 traversing the well-known Wagga Wagga viaducts and other sections of the deep south and we finish up with a spectacular chase of the great Garratt leading a 26 car train (including support vehicles) from Junee to Goulburn on a glorious sunny day.
When will we see these wonderful sights again? At least in this production we can relive the magic of recent times passed.
