This tour has been postponed owing to RailCorp requiring a trackwork
possession of the line on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th March 2012,
between Dapto and Bomaderry (Nowra). This possession was arranged at
the same time that SETS was organising this tour with RailCorp's
Special Events unit, however the Special Events and SETS were not
advised of this clash until Monday 16th January
Come and join SETS as we liberate a Chopper 'C' set from
suburban working for a one off trip to the end of the wires on
the South Coast!
Our tour will feature one of RailCorp's unique "Chopper"
suburban sets which have now transported Sydney
commuters for 25 years..
This unusual trip will commence from Sydney Terminal at
approximately 8am, then travel to Bondi Junction via the
crossovers at North Tempe then Cronulla, before we break through the
suburban boundary with an express run to Kiama. Here you
can enjoy a 90 minute lunch by the ocean and stroll up to the
popular Kiama Blowhole and Lighthouse.
After lunch we will traverse the industrial branch to Port
Kembla before returning to more familiar territory, and
finally concluding the tour at Sydney Terminal at around 5.30pm.
There will be plenty of photo stops along the way. Light
refreshments will also be available on board!
