The SETS Shop offers a range of railway related merchandise for mail order.

We are stocking the full range of Andrew Coble's rail videos (currently 17 in the series), traditional SETS mugs, reprints of our electric locomotive manuals and some collectables for electric train enthusiasts.

We have a number of exclusive items depicting Sydney's Electric Trains as well as other items of general railway interest. Our range of exclusive merchandise items is displayed on this site as it is updated.

Collectables Range
86 Class Reproduction Numberboards

SETS is arranging reproduction numberboards for some of its electric locomotives. Currently we have produced trial new boards for 8649. We have borrowed original 86 Class boards and used photographs to recreate the typeface. The new numberboards have been fitted and can be seen illustrated on the details page. We are able to provide 86/85/80 Class numberboards with any number to order. The current 86 class production design can be seen here.

    Pichi Richi 40th Weekend

    Pichi Richi Anniversary Weekend:-

    Pichi Richi railway preservation society held its inaugural rail fan weekend in May 2014. This marked the 40th anniversary of the heritage group. It was a 2 day celebration with special trips with its collection of operating rolling stock. You will see Brill railmotor 106 & trailer car 305, ex Commonwealth railways steam locomotive NM25, Commonwealth railways diesel locomotive NB30, NT76 leading a mixed goods to Port Augusta & return, shots of lined up locos.     NSW Railways: Celebrating 150 Years

    NSW Railways Sesqui-Centenary Celebrations:-

    In September 2005 a series of special events were staged to celebrate the 150th anniversary the opening of the first railway line in NSW. Most of the operational main line steam locomotives in the state, as well as diesel electric & electric heritage stock were used to showcase the rich heritage of rail transport, in a special that may not be repeated for many years!

    We join 3801 on an historic journey from Binnaway to Cobar in its grey nurse paint in 2008. Highlights include pacing the loco along many straights then capture its arrival at Cobar (first time visit). Then we see 3801 in its traditional green as it heads west from Orange to Wellington, then some cross country action at Dubbo, Merrygoen, Elong Elong & Binnaway.

    Once the mainstay of the New South Wales main lines, the venerable 44 and 45 class ALCO diesel locomotives are shown-off with three memorable tours on the scenic, but now closed, Mudgee line: 4486/4401 to Mudgee on 26 January 2005, 4471/4486/4401/4473 to Kandos on 28 January 2006 and 4501/4486 to Kandos on 4 February 2007.

    Witness the return to service of 4001 after 40 years of sitting on static display, and capture its first start up on the turntable at Thirlmere. See 4001 on its first run to Central station, then on its first major run to Bathurst. Includes scenes of 4520 & 4306 on the return from a Broken Hill tour, 4520 plus 44211 on a tour to Bathurst, and 4520 & 4490 on the last loco hauled train out of Mudgee.
